Me

What makes me, me? It gets difficult to stop people from asking me the reasons for my actions, my future plans, their reasons, justifications and then judgements, my assumptions on them judging me on the assumption that they do judge, and so on so forth.

The important fact of the matter is, it does not stop me from making my decisions. But I would like people to know exactly why and how I came to making it in the first place.

Foremost, I like to do and try new things with age never being a constraint. Well age in the West does not stop people from being themselves but from India where I happen to have lived almost most of my life it does matter. There is a basic expectation that everyone carries as what happens when in life in the fixed chronological order and one cannot beat it. Only a few take the off beaten path.

So coming back, I like to do new things and I will do it. Do not stop me nor discourage, neither do I request assent nor do I wish dissent. No I am not sure, I want to go for a free fall and I want to do it again and again. Don't worry, I will ensure a few basics in my journey, a few rules, my experience will be new, environment will be refreshing, i will have companionship to fall back to, I will not go broke, I will ensure dignity of self and people I am  connected to, I'll have a good time, I'll still have my boundaries defined so the free fall may only be in terms of falling back monetarily, in social standing with peers from past.

But the truth is, my experience makes me, it will always be unique, it will be extraordinary, I will have a story, I will be richer in terms of life lived and I agree these actions do have their difficulties, I will have forgone my responsibilities especially to my beloved parents who have always trusted my, have had faith in my actions, have never expected anything from me other than my betterment and good life and some savings for future.

I will regret not having been there with them almost all my life, not having lived together, first away for schooling, higher education, then work, business kinda work that I am currently in that took me to a different country altogether. Never been so far from them and now my plans seem to be taking me further away from them, if they materialise soon enough.
Yes this is my greatest regret, my parents age by the day, and I can't seem to spend time with them and thats all I've always wished for, their company, their better health and their happiness.

Yes, maybe I'm living the life they didn't have, not because they couldn't but because they had us kids to sacrifice their lives and love to.

I have company in my life partner, who has been kind enough to stick through thick and thin, through highs and lows, well mostly I've been able to keep her happy, especially because she has accepted what came as treat and wage, as luxury and comfort and the rest of that. I thank her and thank my dear God who has provided me company for it would be lonely doing it all alone... Ali the stuff that I do and the stuff that is to follow.

Well this is me and I have just started.

Time for a Question

Why do all festivals have to be noisy and polluting to the environment? Why is it that few of us are left with a foul taste by the time it ends and why do I dread whenever a new festival is around the corner?

There might be just a few who would approve of my questions. At a time when the nation is getting election ready, many, infact millions are busy celebrating the festival of colours while a few sit at home awaiting a closure to all the sound and black that will remain.

How come all festivals that were meant to signify victory of good over evil and the coming of a new season or arrival of harvesting become such meaningless occasions when tempers and adrenalin runs high and the wild prevails.

Times when festivals were a means to unite the people of the nation are long gone, the essence drained and all that remains is the wasteful.

Let us tabulate the list of seemingly increasing bad that such occasions have seem to signify: widespread noise pollution in the form of hooting and blaring music, pollution to the environment, air and water pollution, millions of gallons of water wasted at times when water tables are fast depleting and the impact it has over the other inhabitants that also share space on this planet.

Has God got it all wrong, making us the intelligent species has taken a toll on the rest that is and which soon will be, that was.

Shouldn't we as a society rise and make better of such wonderful festivals our ancestors enriched our lives with, don't we owe it to them and to the world at large to contribute to making this place better, better for ourselves and for the generations to come.

Why don't we redesign these wonderful festivals to signify new age reforms needed in every sphere such as visit an old age home with one's family and pass the money allocated for wasteful spends on such occasions to the needy, visit an NGO of choice along with the family to sensitize our young ones, even a whole housing society can decide to skip such celebrations and use the budgeted money to help better lives, do something positive to the environment, plant trees, even a simple visit to the zoo will suffice, adopt an animal there, visit forgotten friends, aging relatives, work one day at an NGO, spread happiness and showcase your skills. Even the local government bodies can make use of such days to organize events to sponsor various beautiful development plans.

It is time that people as a whole rise and make a difference.

To begin with, please stop treating public places as garbage, stop littering, stop playing loud music at sites you are visiting, rather use head phones, infact just stop, pause for a while check your behavior, question yourself as to whether you would behave the same way in your home...then proceed with utmost care.

All this may sound a little preachy but I felt it is time that I too stop being angry about everything and act. I think writing shall help change my Indian brethren.

Happy Glorious India!

Obama ObAmA

Do not let us down Obama, O!bama: -

A breath of fresh air, a wave of refreshing current, a sign of life, a new life to America and thus to the overly dependent world, that is Barack Hussein Obama for you.

This is the beginning of a new era, a New World Order.

And what I see from here in India is nothing less than an EvOlUtIoN. It is not just a victory for Obama or for US of A alone, but also it is a resounding victory for Humanity, for the entire human race.
In my eyes America has long been a world of double-speak and double-standards, today I see new LiGhT. Its citizens have long been quite, today they have awoken and that too with a BaNg. Bravo!
They overcame their weaknesses (spell: Racism; colour) and voted humanity in.
I do not personally agree to all that Obama had to say and do to become Mr. President, but a bit of manipulation is acceptable. After all it is just being politically correct. Reading from the papers, it might hurt our economy (read: Obama’s policies such as outsourcing) but then India will always move ahead, strong and revitalised (currently with such Great Learned Men Leading our Nation aka Dr. Manmohan Singh) and with direction from the Big Brother (my earlier view of the US of A: now I see it as a Learned Friend worthy of friendship).

The whole world has been reading about you, it has been praying for you, it has been following your campaign and today you stand where you have the powers (humanly) to correct all wrong, rectify all mistakes, rejuvenate the economy, spread happiness, be just, be fair, be humane, and be equal. Lot of weight rests on your shoulder; it is not a burden, but a responsibility towards your citizenry and the wOrLd, today you have to Bolden our faith in you.

Do not let us down Mr. President.

Wish you the very best from the bottom of my heart and wish America the very best too.
Keep that smile, Sir and we all will feel confident and comforted.
Save humanity, and save life.

Final word, Go Green, Go Clean!!

Love

Some Fool has said…

It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have ever loved. I never even gave this phrase a second reading. Love was the most vague idea ever fancied or fantasized by the human raceeeeeeeeeeee. I am not talking about motherly love or love for brethren but love between man and woman.

Same thing about two2 months ago did not mean a thing to me. And then today two2 months later I know a thing or two2 about love too.

Last year September 13th, I started this page, same day this year too was a terrible day, but here I am alive and kicking. Who knew that 13th October 2008 would be a day which could pale days like 13th September 2007!
I just want you all out there to hear me shout, Love is painful, but then who wants ordinary live that has seen no love.

This is the most terrible script ever written.

A date with Destiny

Conspiracy:

Sometimes it is so easy to ‘let go’, at times so difficult. Whether it is the mind that is playing games or are we a part of a larger conspiracy. We set out to conquer the world and it is so that mid way somewhere the world has conquered our 'Will'.

What I ask then is 'The Will'? Is it a vivid power centre in the body, or is it the conscience that takes a stance strong enough to break-through any barrier?!! Thoughts are so vivid always, sometimes the drift takes the shape of an Idea and that is just the beginning, a beginning of creation, pursuing, temptation, of fulfillment and contentment. What role then does the 'Will' play here. It keeps alive the belief, the belief in the idea, the belief that realization is possible, the belief that your fruit is just hanging by the next branch.

Thus we can spell it out as 'Will' is 'Life' and 'Life'is 'Willed'.

Why then is it difficult to let go? Does the 'Will' get over powered by a different power centre. Who or what is in control? What is this force? We all know it by the name Heart, the softie, the check, the balance. But then who controls the heart that controls the 'Will' that makes it difficult to 'let go'?

Number Thirteen

The Dilemma

Have you ever wondered about the enigma that surrounds the number Thirteen!? I never believed it, nor still believe, but yes this disbelief has been shaken a bit, on this 13th of September.Though its a small incident, already narrated in the script below, so I'll not get into it.

Sticking to the subject in focus, have you ever felt any agitation, or 'hitch-kitch-aahat' regarding the believe in disbelief of the Number Thirteen. It really pains to lose your prized possession, but at the same time, I feel the loss was more to do with my carelessness rather than the Number Thirteen.

What makes this blog special is, all my thoughts have occured on 13th or 31st, which is extreme coincidence like today's incident. Also I have been as careless with the use of words as one can be.In Conclusion, the Number Thirteen may smell foul, but it is more to do with superstition and coincidence rather than factual or scientific reasons to assert that Number Thirteen is Disastrous.

Coincedentally, today was the Birthday of many successful people.

fyi

The number of participants at the Last Supper Counting both Judas Iscariot and Matthias, there were thirteen apostles Thirteen was once associated with the Epiphany by Christians, the child Jesus having received the Magi on his thirteenth day of life. In Judaism, 13 signifies the age a boy matures (bar mitzvah). The number of principles of Jewish faith according to Maimonides According to the Torah, God has 13 Attributes of Mercy

Unlucky 13

Thirteen is regarded as an unlucky number in many cultures. Fear of the number 13 is termed triskaidekaphobia. The thirteenth of a month is likewise ominous, particularly when it falls on a Friday in some English-speaking cultures, Russia and Germany or a Tuesday in the Greek and Spanish-speaking world.

Examples

In Scotland, there is no terminal 13 in any airport, instead there is a terminal 12B.

Some airplanes skip a row 13, going straight from 12 to 14. Some tall buildings have resorted to skipping the "thirteenth floor", either by numbering it "14" or as "12a".

Some streets do not contain a house number 13.

The Code of Hammurabi, a collection of laws created ca. 1760 BC, does not contain a thirteenth law.

On the 13th day of the Persian new year (Norouz), people consider staying at home unlucky, and go outside for a picnic in order to ward off the bad luck.

......and more is out there.

Phone ki Dhadkan

An incident at the Bus stop has wreaked havoc in my information management and streamlining mechanism.

While trying to get on to a bus, one rarely dreams of an incident of massive proportions, one that can disable the daily activity and smooth functioning of what you call routine business.

A first of its kind in my case, but one that made me walk miles in the scorching sun in vain.

You will not believe it; even now i have not been able to digest it, but that, which told me of the upcoming schedules, events such as birthdays, on that keep me on my toes, one that remembered for me umpteen number of things, one that was full of memories that could be recalled at the click of a button, got stolen right under me nose, rather from my belt.

so my inference is that don't wear belts and if you do wear them, then don't wear things on them.

My lovely W810i is lost forever and with it all my beautiful pictures, videos, voice audios, reminders, birthdays and an invaluable list of contacts compiled over a period of one year.

In memory of my dear phone,
the beautiful Sony Ericsson W810i
